Ebook About
It started with one night out with the boys. She was the hot diner waitress putting herself through school. I was the rich, arrogant player everyone misjudges. On paper we didn’t match. Yet all it took was one day. One single day to change her mind. She wasn’t planning to spend her day off with me. She wasn’t supposed to fall for my charm. But one day, one smile, turned into several nights of her calling out my name.I’m not the guy she should end up with. I’m jealous, possessive. Not here for a long time - just a good time. She’s changed me.But, for some reason, I feel her slipping through my fingers and no matter what I do, I fear I’m going to strike out with the one and only girl I’ve ever fallen for.

Book The Strike Out: An Unexpected Pregnancy Standalone Review :

I’m pissed at this book. It started off sooooo good with the banter and wittiness between Holt and Harmony. I thought to myself “oooo this is going to be a good one, I’ll buy it” (even though I have a million free books just begging to be read). However, around the 40% mark I started to get bored. Nothing was really happening apart from him being perfect and then taking things slow. Then this book got super cheesy like I wanted to roll my eyes constantly at the path this book went. Then at 80% this book completely changed and somehow this fun witty book turned into my all time HATED plot. This book tricked me into thinking it was a frenemies type thing and then hits me with THIS awful plot twist. I only tolerate it when I’m warned in a blurb or am reading a trilogy and even then I HATE it.I hardly ever rate 1 star but I feel hoodwinked and I’m totally returning this book. Thank god Amazon has a good return policy.
Going into this journey I was already familiar with Holt and Harmony’s chemistry. If you read the Team Player 2 anthology, you should be too, but that’s not important. What’s important is that I didn’t have to wait more than a page or two before I was all in with these two and the short novella that I had read in the anthology came flooding back to me! I loved these two something fierce and I also loved the choices Meghan made for their journey. It’s rare for me to be this close to 100% on board with everything happening in a book, but I was, and it was thrilling!I know that Meghan is known for romantic comedies but this journey wasn’t all laughs. Obviously, all romance journeys have some sort of conflict that couple has to get past but, yeah, I wasn’t ready! You’ve been warned lol A perfect blend of laughter and a little ugly cry, this story is sure to please all romance fiction readers. The unfolding of the plot and progression of the relationship between Harmony and Holt was so relatable that I felt I could be their friend (okay, like 99% of the time cuz ya’ll know these new adult kids can be make me want to drive an icepick in my eye at times lol). Another hit (no pun intended) for Meghan Quinn! Well done!
